Herrenabend | Friday, October 14th; 7pm

Join us for one of the BSV's longest-standing traditions: Herrenabend (men's night)! For more than 100 years, one Friday night per month, the men of the BSV take over the club for a night of drinks, dinner, and comradery.

Guest chefs Ioan Truta and Bill Jurgelewicz will be preparing a special menu featuring fresh, homemade Bratwurst, plus Sauerkraut and Kartoffelsalat.

Pre-purchased meal tickets are required for all guests who are dining with us. The event is open to both members and guests.

Freundeskreis: an Insider's View of the Boston Symphony Orchestra | Sunday, October 16th; 2pm

We are excited and honored to have Tom Gauger, BSV and Sängerchor member, as our guest at our first presentation this fall. Tom was a percussionist for the world-renowned Boston Symphony Orchestra for 40 years. He will walk us through what it takes to put on a performance, tell us about the various conductors he has worked with, describe the logistical challenges of performing all over the world, share special memories, and he will demonstrate a few of his instruments. Do you know what a musical score for a percussionist looks like? Do you know the answer to the riddle “How do I get to Symphony Hall?” Come and find out and bring your questions in what will be an educational and interesting event. Bring a friend, a food item to share, or make a $5 donation.

Please let us know if you are coming and how many guests you are bringing. Contact: evans.afz@gmail.com or 617-365-1790.
