UPCOMING APRIL EVENTS

Monthly Business Meeting

Monday, April 3rd | 7:30PM

Attention BSV members: our monthly business meeting takes place on Monday, April 3rd at 7:30pm.

BSV Ratskeller: Open to the Public Every Thursday Evening at 6:30PM

A reminder for all that our Ratskeller bar is open to the public each Thursday evening while our Adult German Language School is in session.

Join us after work on Thursdays for a beer, wine, or German cordial! Food is not served, but guests are welcome to bring their own.

Monthly Games Night in the Ratskeller

Friday, April 7th | 7PM

Games Night returns to the Ratskeller on Friday, April 7th beginning at 7pm. Bring your favorite board or card game or come compete in the monthly Skat Meister tournament (for experienced Skat players only).

All are welcome and the Ratskeller will be open to both members and non-members. The full bar selections will be available, but this is a potluck-style event and guests are invited to bring their own food/snacks to share.

Please note: for any non-Skat playing gamers who will be attending, please check with the Skat organizers as to where to sit. Some of the Ratskeller tables are reserved specifically for the monthly Skat Meister tournament.

April Herrenabend (SOLD OUT)

Friday, April 14th | 7pm

Herrenabend (men's night) is one of the BSV's oldest traditions, originating at the club more than 100 years ago.

Guest chef Bill Jurgelewicz will be preparing a special menu featuring Braised Beef Short Ribs over Mashed Potatoes, Sauteed Mushrooms, Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Bread Pudding as dessert.

While meal tickets have already sold out, non-ticketed guests are still welcome to join us for drinks/cocktails.

April Freundeskreis

Sunday, April 16th | 2-4PM

Please join us for our next gathering of friends on April 16th at 2 p.m. in the Ratskeller. We will have a presentation by two students, Zoe and Nate, who spent the academic year 2021-2022 studying at a Gymnasium in Germany as exchange students. They would love to share their experiences with us. Zoe goes to Walpole High School and Nate to Westwood High School. Both were recipients of the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Scholarship Program. Nate is presently enrolled in the Advanced Class at the BSV Thursday School and Zoe visits the club during these hours to practice her German.

JoAnn Busch will give a brief introduction about this exchange program. Don’t miss what promises to be an interesting and informative event. You can sign up online for this event, but walk-ins are always welcome. Please bring a food item to share or make a $5 contribution.

For any questions, feel free to contact Angelika Evans at evans.afz@gmail.com or Dorothy Dean at doadean@gmail.com .
